Efteling Wonder Hotel

“Hard to access on foot if you're arriving by public transport. Staff are great and clearly enjoy their job and are keen to help. Food at the restaurant for evening meals is a tapas style system but charging main prices per bland item. Great as children's portions and fodder, poor for adults. Breakfasts are good with character visits to amuse/ terrify your children. Early park access is good, just avoid the rush for the lifts. Rooms have character and are comfortable enough. Shower trays are lethal, bring or buy a mat on your way in. The gameboard in the room is robust and heavy, whilst perched unsexured ontop of a stool. My children immediately knocked it over onto eachother. Ample storage and climate control is good. If you're heading out on foot into town there's an underpass nearer the main roads junction, but this isn't signposted. It's a bit of a detour but safer than dodging across traffic.”

“The hotel flies around on the clouds each night on the power of your children's dreams. But they need to be in bed by 8pm otherwise it ruins the magic and it wont set off. Jules verbe the vondervaart explains all each day at 4 sittings day and night. Breakfast buffet is generous and good quality with gluten free and dairy free options. Much less hectic than Disney hotels which are a fight to the death for toast like experience. Beautifully redecorated and themed recently. Family rooms or suites based on rides/ efteling characters available. Dinner in the saga restaurant is lovely, the desserts beautiful but expensive. A la cart for 2 dishes reasonable but the set menu for 4 or 5 courses is 42 to 50 euros drinks on top. Would be way too much food too. Suitable for a special occasion or if you've skipped lunch. You can order in, Uber eats works in the Netherlands, saw people getting dominoes delivered too. If the park is still Open the kasbah has amazing good and is the firstly thing you come to in the park. Recommend eating there before leaving at 6pm (closes at 7pm Easter time anyway)”

“We stayed 3 nights, 2 adults and 2 children in a Premium room with a King size and bunk bed. Clean and well provisioned with hot drinks, chocolates etc. Only 2 lifts which get busy when people are arriving/leaving. Hallway could be noisy in the evening with disrespectful guests talking and shouting loudly (parents not even attempting to quiten their kids). Breakfast is good quality buffet continental fare, can be busy but staff work handled to keep things clean and topped up. Dinner was fantastic, we had the 3 course set menu and it is worth every penny. Very imaginative and complimentary flavours. We had tree nut allergies in our family which the staff and chefs are very helpful in taking into account. Keys can be digital on your Efteling App.”

“After 3 nights spent there I can say that the conditions are pretty good, the breakfast is realy good eve it is not very diverse. The dinner thou has a big question mark for me: if you order a 3 course dinner, the portions are small so you can eat what you order. But if you want to eat only one separate dish is the same amount of food (a small one) so they can force you to get the more expensive one. I had to go to other places to eat just because of this reason. Also the 30 minutes acces to the park before the official opening is pretty useless since you have to run to the attractions just to get in a huhe queue and have at most one before the general public is there. The rest is ok.”
